The uPAC-7186EXD-SM-G is a compact programmable automation controller for engineers who need to bring serial equipment onto Ethernet. It pairs an 80186-class CPU running at 80 MHz with the MiniOS7 framework, so application code can be written in C using ICP DAS development tools.
Connectivity covers one 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port and both RS-232 and RS-485 serial ports, with serial speeds up to 115200 bps. Standard Modbus libraries are provided, allowing the controller to be polled or read by SCADA packages such as Indusoft, ISaGRAF, DasyLab, Trace Mode, Citect and iFix. An I/O expansion bus accepts one X-board, and more than 50 expansion boards are listed for this platform.
This gray-cover variant is supplied with 512 KB flash, 16 KB EEPROM and 640 KB SRAM, plus a real-time clock, watchdog timer and 64-bit hardware serial number. It is rated for -25 to +75 °C operation and mounts on a DIN rail. Status is shown on a five-digit 7-segment LED display and system indicators.
