The tM-AD5 CR is a DIN-rail analog input module for RS-485 networks that takes five differential voltage inputs. Each input can be set to ±1 V, ±2.5 V, ±5 V or ±10 V, so one module can cover a range of sensor and transmitter signals without changing hardware.
Designed for electrically demanding installations, the module tolerates up to 120 VDC on its analog inputs and provides 2500 VDC isolation between sections of the module. Its ±4 kV contact ESD protection on each terminal adds robustness on busy machine and panel environments. Sampling can be chosen to suit the application: normal mode gives 14-bit resolution at 10 Hz with ±0.1% accuracy, while fast mode gives 12-bit resolution at 200 Hz with ±0.5% accuracy.
Communication is via a single RS-485 port supporting DCON, Modbus RTU and Modbus ASCII at 1200 to 115200 bps. A programmable dual watchdog covers both the module and communication, and the unit runs from a 10 to 30 VDC supply with reverse polarity protection.
