The tGW-715-T CR is a compact gateway that lets Modbus TCP and UDP masters communicate with serial Modbus RTU and ASCII devices over Ethernet. It is a practical way to bring legacy serial equipment into an Ethernet-based SCADA or HMI system without being limited by serial cable length.
The gateway can also be set up for pair-connection, serial-bridge or serial-tunnel applications, routing Modbus data over TCP/IP between two serial devices. This suits mainframes, servers or other serial equipment that uses Modbus RTU or ASCII but has no Ethernet capability of its own.
A read-cache stores previous requests and responses, so repeated requests from several masters to the same slave are answered immediately. This reduces traffic on the RS-485 bus and gives faster TCP responses. The -T variant takes its supply from a terminal block rated +12 ~ 48 VDC.
