tGW-715 CR bridges Modbus TCP/UDP hosts on an Ethernet network with serial Modbus RTU or ASCII devices on RS-422/485. It lets a supervisory system reach field devices without being limited by the cable lengths of legacy serial links, and it can act as master or slave on either side of the conversion.
The gateway can also be used in pair-connection, serial-bridge or serial-tunnel arrangements, routing serial Modbus data over TCP/IP between two RTU or ASCII devices. A read-cache stores previous requests and responses, so repeated queries from several HMI or SCADA masters to the same slave are answered quickly, reducing traffic on the RS-485 bus.
Power can be supplied over Ethernet via IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE, or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block input where no PoE switch is available. The listing includes a DC-jack to 2-wire power cable, 0.3 M. The unit is housed in a plastic case for DIN-rail mounting and is rated for -25 ~ +75 °C operation.
