Serial to Bluetooth LE bridge for RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 networks. The tBLE-720 CR lets a serial device join a Bluetooth LE piconet without running cable. It converts data from RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 into Bluetooth LE, and the link can be made to a second tBLE-720 or to a smartphone, tablet or notebook.
The module offers two transmission modes. In advertisement mode it operates as broadcaster or observer, and in connection mode as central or peripheral. A DIP switch selects the transmission mode and role, and a rotary switch sets the baud rate. Connection and broadcast parameters can be adjusted with AT commands, and a Windows GUI configuration utility is available for setup and testing over the serial interface. A slave security mechanism causes the slave to ignore connection requests from illegal masters.
Status and RF link LEDs assist with troubleshooting. The unit is DIN-rail mounted with a plastic housing and operates from +10 ~ +30 VDC over the range -25 ~ +75 °C. The manufacturer marks this model as Asia only.
