iP-8817 CR is an 8-slot programmable automation controller that runs embedded ISaGRAF Ver.3 SoftLogic to IEC 61131-3 on an 80186 CPU clocked at 80 MHz under MiniOS7. It suits engineers who need PLC-style control logic with a rack of hot-swappable serial I/O modules in a single unit.
The eight slots accept high profile I-87K serial I/O modules, and the I-8K series is also listed as a supported I/O type. Four serial ports (two RS-232, one isolated RS-485 and one switchable RS-232/RS-485) let the controller talk to field devices, while RS-485 remote I/O modules from the I-7000 series and expansion units (RU-87Pn or I-87Kn) extend the system further.
Battery-backed SRAM retains data through power cycles, and the unit includes a 64-bit hardware serial number, a real-time clock, a watchdog timer and redundant power inputs. Note that ISaGRAF cannot run on 64-bit Windows 7 or 8 PCs; Win-GRAF is the suggested alternative for those systems.
