The iP-8441-MTCP extends I-8K and I-87K series I/O modules over Ethernet, so analog, digital, counter and frequency channels can be read and controlled from a Modbus TCP host. Each unit provides four slots, and the range of supported modules covers more than 50 types, which makes it a practical choice when a distributed I/O layout must be built around an existing module set.
The unit is aimed at electrically noisy, harsh sites. It accepts a wide 10 ~ 30 VDC supply with isolated power input, carries a redundant power input option and operates between -25 and +75 °C. Installation and maintenance are simplified by auto configuration, LED fault indication, a dual watchdog, programmable power-on values and programmable safe values.
For integration, the Modbus TCP slave function is complemented by Modbus TCP to RTU gateway capability and Modbus RTU/ASCII slave operation on the serial ports. An SDK is available for Windows XP, Windows CE 5.0/6.0, Linux and MiniOS7, and the built-in MiniOS7 platform can be customised in C for 16-bit executables.
