The iP-8411-MRTU extends a serial Modbus network with four slots for I-8K and I-87K series I/O modules. It lets a Modbus RTU/ASCII master read and control analogue and digital I/O, counter and frequency modules over the serial port, so remote I/O can be added to monitoring and control systems without a separate controller.
The unit suits electrically noisy and demanding sites. It accepts a wide 10 ~ 30 VDC supply with isolated power input and redundant power inputs, and it operates between -25 ~ +75 °C. Auto configuration, LED fault indicators and a watchdog timer simplify commissioning and maintenance of the installed modules.
Because Modbus is widely supported by SCADA software, HMIs and PLCs, the unit can be integrated with common automation platforms. Mounting options are DIN-rail or wall, and the 8-bit DIP switch sets the device address.
