The ZT-2571 CR bridges serial and Ethernet devices onto a personal area ZigBee network. It operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band, is compliant with IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee Pro (ZigBee 2007), and offers 16 channels. Choose it when you need to wirelessly connect RS-232, RS-485 or Ethernet equipment without running cable between sites.
Beyond straightforward conversion, the module can work as a ZigBee router, relaying data between parent and child nodes to extend coverage and improve signal quality across the network. It supports Modbus RTU/TCP gateway operation with both broadcast and unicast transmission, and unicast mode can be used to reduce network loading. Transmission power is adjustable up to 10 dBm EIRP, with a 5 dBi omni-directional antenna and a rated line-of-sight distance of 300 metres.
Configuration is handled through a Windows GUI utility, which provides ZigBee parameters such as PAN ID and a topology tool for network monitoring. The unit is DIN-rail mountable in a plastic housing and is rated for operation from -25 to +75 °C.
