The ETS-7217 brings eight differential analog inputs and four digital outputs to an Ethernet network, with a built-in 2-port switch so units can be daisy-chained along a line of machinery or across a building. Each analog channel can be given its own input range and can be set to accept voltage or current, which suits a mixed set of digital sensors in IIoT installations.
Control logic runs on the module itself. An IF-THEN-ELSE engine is configured through the built-in web interface, so simple automation can be set up without writing code, and mathematical functions are included. Protocol support covers Modbus TCP, Modbus TCP/TLS, MQTT, Rest API, CoAP and LwM2M.
Protection and isolation are aimed at harsh electrical environments. The analog inputs tolerate 240 Vrms overvoltage, the digital outputs are protected against short-circuit and overload, and the I/O is isolated to 2500 VDC. The module can be powered over PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 2) or from a +12 to +48 VDC terminal block, and mounts on a DIN rail.
