The FR-2057TW CR adds 16 isolated, high-current digital outputs to an FRnet network. Each output is an NPN sink type, so it switches the load to ground when active, and the module is rated for loads up to 30 VDC and 250 mA maximum. It suits engineers who need to drive relays, indicators or other field loads from a PC, PAC or PLC over a simple two-wire bus.
Modules are linked by daisy-chaining, which keeps wiring to a minimum. FRnet supports two transfer speeds, 250 kbps and 1 Mbps (default), with the maximum transfer distance depending on the chosen speed and cable type. Broadcasting from one controller to several modules and output duplication are supported, and the fixed I/O scan time and synchronisation mechanism help keep timing predictable across the network.
The module provides 3750 Vrms intra-module isolation and includes EFT, ESD and surge protection to IEC 61000-4-4, -4-2 and -4-5. Its plastic housing is designed for DIN-rail mounting, with a 10 to 30 VDC input and an operating range of -25 to +75 °C.
