VPD-142N-H is a compact 4.3-inch touch HMI from the TouchPAD VPD series, combining a 480 x 272 colour TFT touchscreen with a 32-bit RISC CPU and 16 MB SDRAM/16 MB Flash. It is intended for operator panels that need to be added to existing automation systems or fitted into new installations without a large hardware budget.
Two serial ports, each switchable between RS-232 and RS-485, allow the unit to exchange data with controllers and remote I/O. A real-time clock, buzzer, rotary switch, reset button and status LED support timestamping and basic local interaction. The front panel is rated IP65, and the unit mounts on a DIN rail or a panel.
Application programs are developed with the free HMIWorks tool, which offers graphical screen design and both Ladder Designer and C language environments. Expansion is possible through XV-Boards, and the USB 1.1 client port is used for firmware updates.
