VEX-112 CR adds two RS-232 serial ports to a PCI Express x1 slot, giving PCs a practical way to connect bar code readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors and instrumentation equipment.
Each port has a 128-byte hardware FIFO and runs at up to 115200 bps in full-duplex mode. COM port numbers can be set with the 8-bit DIP switch or assigned automatically by the driver. Under Windows the driver provides up to 128 KB of software buffering per port, which suits large file transfers.
The i-suffixed versions add photocoupler isolation of the data lines and ESD protection, and this ordering code does not include those features. The card uses a short design and lists CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE certifications. The operating temperature range is 0 ~ +60°C.
