The USB-2045-32 expands I/O on a PC or embedded host through a single USB connection, with no external power supply required. Its 32 open-collector, sink-type (NPN) digital outputs each handle up to 500 mA, and an LED per channel shows the state of every output at a glance.
Two watchdog layers, a hardware watchdog (1.6 second) and a programmable software watchdog, work together with programmable power-on and safe values. If communication fails, the outputs move to their configured safe state, which helps keep control systems predictable in demanding environments.
The ordering code CR variant is supplied with a 1.5 M USB cable (CA-USB15), and the cable can be locked to the module. A utility tool supports module configuration and I/O testing, and an API library is available for VB, C++, C#.NET, VB.NET and LabVIEW.
