RU-87P4-G is a remote intelligent expansion unit that adds four I-87K series I/O module slots to an RS-485 network. Its CPU module communicates over DCON, an ASCII-based protocol, so I/O modules can be placed remotely on a single multi-drop line rather than wired back to a controller individually.
The unit suits monitoring and control installations in harsh, electrically noisy environments. It accepts a 10 ~ 30 VDC supply and operates from -25 °C to +75 °C. Modules can be hot swapped, and automatic configuration, fault and error detection and dual watchdog functions help reduce commissioning and maintenance effort.
Software support includes PACSDK, a LabVIEW driver, an InduSoft driver, a Linux driver and an OPC Server, so modules plugged into the unit can be integrated into a range of software environments.
