The RU-87P2-G is a gray-cover remote expansion unit that adds two I-87K series I/O module slots to a DCON network over a single RS-485 port. It suits engineers who need to extend distributed monitoring and control points on an existing multi-drop RS-485 bus without moving to a different protocol stack.
The unit supports more than 50 I-87K modules, covering analogue input and output, digital input and output, and counter or frequency types. Hot swapping and auto configuration make module replacement and commissioning quicker, while LED indicators, fault and error detection and a dual watchdog help with diagnostics in harsh or electrically noisy installations.
Software support includes PACSDK, a LabVIEW driver, an InduSoft driver, a Linux driver and an OPC Server, so I-87K modules fitted to the RU-87P2-G can be integrated into a range of software environments.
