PIO-D48U is a 48-channel digital I/O board for industrial PCs, fitted to a universal PCI slot that accepts both 3.3 V and 5 V signalling. All 48 TTL lines are buffered on the board, which suits engineers who need to switch or sense signals directly from a PC without designing their own interface stage. The lines are organised as six 8-bit bi-directional ports, and the card emulates two industrial-standard 8255 PPI ports in Mode 0 for straightforward software migration.
Each board carries a 4-bit Card ID switch, so software can tell cards apart when two or more PIO-D48U boards are installed in one computer. On-board pull-high and pull-low resistors define a stable logic state for digital inputs that are left unconnected, rather than leaving them floating. Four interrupt sources and register-level readback of digital output status add to the control options.
Drivers and a DLL with an ActiveX control are supplied for Linux, DOS and Windows, along with sample programs for a range of development environments, including Visual C++, Delphi, Visual Basic, C#.NET and LabVIEW. This ordering code is the Universal PCI, 48-ch Digital I/O Board (RoHS) version.
