The PFN-2053 CR adds 16 dry contact digital inputs to a PROFINET network as an IO Device. The inputs are non-isolated and use a source-type arrangement, with ON detected when a contact closes to GND and OFF when it is open. Its minimum cyclic time of 1 ms suits applications that need fast, deterministic updates of switch and contact status.
Engineers can integrate the module using the generic GSDML file (Version 2.25), which works with any PROFINET engineering tool. Each terminal carries 4 kV contact ESD protection, and the unit supports PROFINET Conformance Class B and RT Class 1. Diagnostics are available through PWR, S1A, S1B, S2A and S2B LED indicators.
