PEX-730A is a PCI Express x1 digital I/O board that combines 32 optically isolated channels (16 DI and 16 PNP source DO) with 32 TTL-level channels (16 DI and 16 DO). The isolated channels provide 3750 Vrms photo-isolation, so input signals can float free of the ground reference, which helps prevent ground loops and protects the host computer from damaging voltages.
The isolated digital outputs are PNP (current sourcing) with an integrated suppression diode for inductive loads, which suits alarm and signal output control, switching external circuits that need a higher voltage level, and signal transmission. The order code includes one CA-4002 D-Sub connector for field wiring.
A 4-bit Card ID switch lets software identify each board when two or more cards are installed in one computer. The PEX-730A is designed as a direct replacement for the PISO-730U/PISO-730A and needs no software or driver modification.
