The PDS-743 CR is a programmable device server that brings RS-232 and RS-485 serial devices onto an Ethernet network. Its built-in COM ports can be mapped to standard Virtual COM ports on a Windows PC using the VxComm utility, so existing serial software can keep working without modification.
The unit also acts as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, allowing SCADA and HMI systems that speak Modbus TCP to reach Modbus RTU or ASCII slave devices. The built-in MiniOS7 runtime and programmable Xserver structure let engineers build custom Ethernet applications on the device.
Four digital inputs with latched and counter functions and four open-collector digital outputs add local I/O to the serial gateway. The plastic enclosure mounts on DIN-rail or wall, and a removable terminal block simplifies wiring. The CA-0910 cable is included.
