The PDS-721D brings a serial RS-232 device and an RS-485 device onto an Ethernet network without changing the serial application. Its virtual COM driver lets a PC address the device's serial ports as standard COM ports, which suits legacy software that expects a local serial connection.
Beyond serial bridging, the unit runs a programmable Xserver structure on a built-in MiniOS7 platform, so custom Ethernet logic can be developed on the device. It also acts as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, allowing Modbus TCP SCADA or HMI systems to reach Modbus serial slaves. The six digital inputs support latched and counter functions, and the seven open-collector outputs and LED display add local status and control.
The PDS-721D is supplied with a CA-0910 cable and suits factory, building and home automation installations. It is housed in a plastic casing with DIN-rail or wall mounting, a removable terminal block, and a watchdog timer for use in harsh environments.
