PCIe-S148/D2 CR adds eight RS-422/485 serial ports to a PC through a single PCI Express x1 slot. Each port has its own 256-byte hardware FIFO and supports full-duplex communication at up to 921600 bps, so it suits engineers who need several serial links on one host without relying on onboard COM ports.
COM port numbers can be assigned automatically by the driver, or chosen under software control where a fixed numbering scheme is required. The card uses a short design and is supplied with the CA-9-6210 cable, which distinguishes this order code from the CA-PC62M D-Sub connector variant.
Typical targets include bar code readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors and instrumentation, as well as computers and other equipment fitted with an RS-422/485 port.
