I-8831 CR is an 8-slot Ethernet embedded controller built around an 80188-40 CPU and the MiniOS7 embedded operating system, which the source describes as DOS-like. MiniOS7 boots in 0.4 ~ 0.8 second and includes built-in hardware diagnostics, so the controller can be deployed where a compact, programmable station with local I/O expansion is needed.
The controller accepts I-8K and I-87K series modules across its eight slots, covering digital, analogue, counter/frequency and motion functions. An Ethernet RJ-45 port and three serial ports give engineers network access and serial device connectivity from a single unit. The XServer library is supplied to simplify TCP/IP program development, and the controller can be fitted with optional S-256 or S-512 battery-backed SRAM for data logging.
The blue cover version is supplied with the CR ordering suffix. The unit is rated for an operating temperature of -25 ~ +75 °C and can be mounted on a DIN-rail or wall.
