The I-7565-CPM-G CR is a USB to CANopen master converter for engineers who want to run a CANopen network from a PC. It has its own 80186 CPU at 80 MHz that runs the converter firmware independently, so the host only has to send commands over USB. A set of APIs lets developers control the device from their own applications, which reduces the work needed to handle the CANopen protocol directly.
The unit has one CANopen port built on an NXP SJA1000T CAN controller, with baud rates from 10 k to 1 M and a built-in 120 Ω terminal resistor. Its USB connection makes it easy to move between test benches and machines, which suits quick CANopen system setup and commissioning. The CANopen master also supports the CANopen Motion Library, which follows CiA 402 and covers position, velocity, torque and synchronised control.
