The I-2533 CR is an intelligent CAN bridge that connects two CAN bus systems over a multi-mode fiber optic link. It converts CAN bus signals to optical signals, reshapes them at the far end and supports both CAN 2.0A and CAN 2.0B, fully compatible with ISO 11898-2.
Compared with the I-2532, this model adds CAN baud rate and message filter configuration. This is useful when joining two networks that run at different baud rates. Because the baud rate does not limit the transmission distance, the total network length can be extended, with up to 2 km per fiber link at any CAN baud rate.
The bridge accepts a user-defined baud rate within the 10 k ~ 1 M bps range and includes a software utility for message filter setup. Its 512-record CAN Tx and Rx buffers and broken line detection for the fiber cable help keep data flowing reliably across the link.
