EMP-9258-16 CR is a 16-axis SoftPLC motion controller with an i5-8365UE CPU and an integrated real-time EtherCAT master, running Windows IoT alongside the PLC runtime. It includes two expansion slots.

EMP-9258-16 CR is a Win-GRAF based motion controller for machine builders who need EtherCAT motion control of up to 16 axes alongside Windows applications. The Intel Core i5-8365UE CPU runs Windows 10 IoT Enterprise with the SoftPLC runtime and the real-time EtherCAT master, so PLC logic, motion control and Windows software such as HMI or data processing can run side by side without interfering with each other.
The SoftPLC supports all five IEC 61131-3 languages (FBD, LD, IL, ST and SFC) and includes PLCopen function blocks for single and multi-axis control, with support for the standard CiA402 EtherCAT slave drive profile. A second CPU provides EtherCAT communication retention, so the EtherCAT link and process recipe are maintained even if the operating system or a program crashes.
Connectivity covers EtherCAT, Modbus TCP and RTU, and an OPC UA server, with two 10/100/1000 Base-TX Ethernet ports, RS-485 and RS-232/RS-485 serial ports, and four USB 2.0 ports. Eight isolated digital inputs and eight open-collector digital outputs are provided, and two slots accept e9K, I-9K or I-97K series I/O modules.
