The EMP-9051-16 CR combines a Windows 10 IoT Enterprise PAC, an EtherCAT Master and an operator interface in a single metal housing. It is intended for engineers who want HMI, data acquisition and motion control running on one platform, with up to 16 axes of EtherCAT control and up to 512 nodes.
Motion features include synchronised motion (E-GEAR and E-CAM), virtual axes and multi-axis linear interpolation, with circular interpolation for any 2 or 3 axes and helical interpolation for any 3 axes. A second CPU supports EtherCAT communication retention, so EtherCAT communication and process recipes are maintained even if the OS or a program crashes.
On the I/O side the unit provides 8 wet-contact digital inputs and 8 open-collector sink digital outputs, both isolated at 3000 VDC or Vrms. It also offers two 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, an RS-485 port and an RS-232/RS-485 port, VGA and HDMI display output, and redundant 19 to 30 VDC power inputs.
