The ECAT-M801-8AX/S CR is a PCI Express EtherCAT MainDevice board for PC-based motion and I/O control. It runs up to 8 axes of motion control on its own built-in CPU, which reduces the processing load on the host PC. It also provides 13 digital inputs, 13 digital outputs and 2 encoder interfaces on the board.
Synchronised motion functions include E-GEAR and E-CAM, together with virtual axes and multi-axis linear interpolation. The EtherCAT cycle time goes down to 0.5 ms, and the master can control up to 512 slaves. A second CPU supports EtherCAT communication retention, so communication and the process recipe can continue if the operating system or a program crashes.
This variant is supplied with a DN-26 terminal board and the CA-1515M and CA-2615M cables, so it is ready to wire up on installation. The manufacturer lists this ordering code as being phased out.
