The DS-712 CR lets an RS-232 device join an Ethernet network without changing its serial software. Its built-in COM port can be presented as a standard virtual COM port on Windows PCs using the VxComm utility, or the unit can operate as a TCP server or TCP client for direct socket communication.
Because the device server is protocol independent, it suits a wide range of network-enabled applications. The DS-712 CR uses a male DB-9 connector with a 5-wire RS-232 port, and it runs from a non-regulated 12 VDC to +48 VDC supply with reverse polarity protection. The plastic housing mounts on a DIN rail or a wall.
Key operating limits include a maximum baud rate of 115200 bps, an operating temperature range of -25 ~ +75 °C and a 5 ~ 90% RH non-condensing humidity rating. The unit is CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE listed.
