The CAN-8823-G CR is a CANopen slave unit that lets you build a distributed I/O node on a CAN bus. Eight expansion slots accept a mix of digital and analogue I/O modules, so you can tailor the channel count and signal types to the application rather than buying a fixed-configuration device.
It follows CiA 301 v4.02 and CiA 401 v2.1 and provides dynamic PDO configuration, EMCY messaging, error output values and both cyclic and acyclic SYNC operation. The Node ID is set with a rotary switch, and the CAN-8823 Utility can generate an EDS file dynamically for configuring different CANopen masters.
