RS-405AFCS-T is a 5-port managed-free industrial Ethernet switch for building real-time redundant ring networks. It provides three 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 ports and two 100Base-FX single-mode fibre ports with SC connectors, so a ring can span longer distances than copper alone allows. The built-in Cyber-Ring technique lets several switches form a redundant ring, with recovery from a copper link failure in approximately 20 ms.
Configuration is kept simple, with no software setup required. Redundancy mode and maximum recovery time are selected with DIP switches, and the unit accepts two DC power sources connected simultaneously, so one can back up the other. A relay output signals power failure or network link failure. Modbus/RTU and Modbus/TCP remote monitoring is supported, along with a Modbus OPC Server.
This ordering code, RS-405AFCS-T CR, is the RoHS-listed version of the single-mode SC fibre model. The unit operates from -30 °C to +75 °C and mounts on a DIN rail in a plastic housing rated IP30.
