The NS-205PFCS CR is an unmanaged DIN-rail switch that combines four copper Ethernet ports, each able to supply Power over Ethernet as Power Sourcing Equipment, with a single 100Base-FX fibre uplink. It lets you run power and data to remote powered devices from one central supply.
The fibre port uses an SC connector and single-mode fibre, which is suited to long-distance links. Fibre transmission is not affected by electrical noise, so the link can run alongside noisy equipment. This variant is specified for 30 km full-duplex operation, with 9/125 µm fibre recommended.
