The NS-200WDM-B is a single-strand fibre media converter that carries Ethernet over one single-mode fibre instead of two. Wavelength division multiplexing sends two independent data channels along the same strand, with this unit transmitting at 1550 nm and receiving at 1310 nm. It is well suited to extending Ethernet links over longer distances where fibre installation is costly.
The NS-200WDM-B works only as a pair with the NS-200WDM-A, which must be installed at the opposite end of the link. The unit uses store-and-forward switching, automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover and IEEE 802.3x full duplex flow control, so it can be connected without special cabling. A soft start function, overload protection and high-low voltage protection are included, and a reverse polarity protected +12 ~ +48 VDC supply simplifies installation on DIN-rail equipment racks.
Ordering code NS-200WDM-B CR is the TX 1550 nm / RX 1310 nm side of the series. Specify the matching NS-200WDM-A when ordering to ensure both ends of the link are compatible.
