MSM-508 CR is an 8-port Layer 2 managed Industrial Ethernet switch with a metal casing, built-in Cyber-Ring redundancy and Modbus monitoring, supplied with a console cable and wall mount.

MSM-508 CR is an 8-port Layer 2 managed Industrial Ethernet switch for control and automation networks. Its eight RJ-45 ports support 10/100Base-TX with auto negotiation and automatic MDI/MDI-X, so connections can be made without crossover cables.
The switch can be configured through the RS-232 console, or over Telnet or a web browser via the Ethernet ports. Managed functions include 802.1Q tag-based VLAN, port-based VLAN, 802.1p QoS, port trunking, spanning tree, cable testing and port mirroring. Built-in Cyber-Ring technology allows several switches to be formed into a redundant ring, with copper link failures detected and recovered in approximately 20 ms.
Status of the Ethernet ports can be read by SCADA systems using Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU or OPC. Two DC power inputs (+12 ~ +48 VDC) can be connected at the same time, with the second source taking over if the first fails, and a relay output signals power or network link failure. The unit operates from -40 °C to +75 °C.
