M-7005-G CR is a DIN-rail remote I/O module for temperature measurement with thermistors. Each of its eight input channels can be configured separately, so different thermistor types can run side by side on one module. Built-in support covers a range of standard thermistor curves, and user-defined types can be added by entering Steinhart coefficients where a standard curve does not match the sensor.
Six open-collector sink (NPN) digital outputs are available for alarm signalling, with programmable power-on and safe values. Open wire detection on the inputs helps identify broken sensor wiring. Intra-module isolation is rated at 3000 VDC, and the thermistor inputs are protected against overvoltage up to 120 VDC, which suits installations with demanding electrical conditions.
Communication is via a single RS-485 port that can be set to Modbus RTU or DCON in software, at baud rates from 1200 to 115200 bps. The module includes a programmable dual watchdog for module and communication supervision. This gray-cover variant shares its hardware specifications with the I-7005.
