The I-5534-M (ordering code I-5534-M CR) gives engineers four independent CAN channels that can be arranged in star or tree topologies. Use it to divide a large bus into several subnets, which raises the practical node count of a network, or to extend the cable run of an existing CAN system.
Each channel can run at its own baud rate, selected with a rotary switch from 5 kbps to 1 Mbps, so segments with different speeds can exchange data through the unit. A configurable CAN filter, up to 32 CAN-ID mappings per channel and a 100-frame buffer per channel help control traffic between segments. A utility tool handles filter, route path, user-defined baud rate and CAN-ID mapping settings.
The aluminium-free metal housing is designed for wall mounting and a 10 to 30 VDC supply. Isolation is rated at 3000 VDC for DC-to-DC and 2500 Vrms for the photo-coupler, and the unit operates from -25 to +75 °C.
